Long awaited WordCamp Nepal 2015 successfully ended this last Saturday. I couldn’t attend the last WordCamp but I was not in a mood to miss this one. Attending WordCamp, representing ThemeGrill was surely a proud moment. ThemeGrill was the silver sponsor for the WordCamp. Me with my whole ThemeGrill team mates were there and we of course had much fun and sharing.
This time the WordCamp was organized in a different place then the previous three. The location was much spacious and halls were pretty good and organized. The number of crowd attending the even was the highest this time.
Being part of WordCamp is always fun. You get a chance to learn something new and meet new and old friends that you have missed throughout the year due to your busy work schedule. Although I didn’t attend the last WordCamp, I was sad as there was no any speaker from automattic. For the first and second WordCamp Philip Author Moore was there to accompany us. We missed him this time and hope to see him in upcoming WordCamp. This time there was Bryce Adams from Woothemes (Automattic). I had some nice conversation with him about Woothemes, the workflow and the difference after Woothemes being acquired by Automattic.
The WordCamp presentation topics were good. Transparency report from Accesspress theme was good too and was a hot topic for discussion. I along with some other tech entrepreneurs had good time talking about the difficulties about payment gateway for countries like Nepal where paypal is not supported and what effort we can bring to make some changes on this.
Overall this WordCamp was fun. There were few things that was not up to my expectations. And would surely like to see that gets better next time. Especially the microphone was unclear and it was difficult to understand speakers. Food could have been better. Over all the WordCamp was pretty good and a great success. I enjoyed it and hope to attend the next one too 🙂
